The thing about games that really gets me (in a good way), is that when you're creating characters and worlds for, say, comics, then you can create absolutely anything you want, and you can have these characters and worlds doing anything you want, and then you can look at them, sitting in their little boxes, not doing anything. With movies you can do almost the same, except of course that it takes a LOT more work to make something believable and to have it blend in realistically with it's surroundings. When done well it can be an amazing visually experience, but again, the image sits in it's little box and you can watch it move around. But with games, you can create the most unbelievable characters, place them in completely outlandish worlds that only need to be believable in themselves, put the whole thing it's little box, and then take control of the little box!

Her language is primarily analogue photography. <br>She photograps with medium format (holga, hasselblad, mamiya) and also full frame (nikon). Photo shoots are made on location in Poland, mainly in crowded places, in cities, on the streets. The scenery is usually harsh, the artist doesn't add or change anything. Dorota just takes advantage of what is already there. She tells stories about the moment of transition: into being a grown-up, into being a woman. Artist explores the boundaries of women's world. She draws attention to sensitivity, sensuality, womanity and also innocence, in spite of daring poses in her photos.

After a brief introduction to photography via my interior architecture degree I became interested in the medium as a creative outlet. Completely self taught, It’s probably worth noting now that I failed my year 1 module in “Photography and the Darkroom” but for some reason I still turned to the camera to feed my artistic output. After borrowing my dad’s DSLR I set upon a journey that was equally frustrating as it was rewarding. Through my architectural studies the obvious ‘go to’ subject was the built environment and to this day it continues to be the driver of my photographic works.
